Venice is the city of histoical memories and ancient places, architectures, cultural heritage. Venice is also a changing city, a place where contemporary artists and designers meet, create and show them creative production.
Salone Europeo della Cultura 2012 is one of themost interesting events in this Venetian autumn, it is going to be four great events, one of these is the Open Design Italia which is considered as one of the most important fair in the design fields.
Open Design Italia give the opportunities to show and sell the creative products directly from designers to customers. This is interesting also for the Venetian producers because all the fairs are free and it's supposed to be hundreds of people.
Salone Europeo della Cultura is composed by other three sections: one is dedicate to renewal of buildings and places in Venice and in the world, another one is about Venice as a Smart City, and the last is about the cultural and artistic heritage and its preservation.
The main theme is the connection between Berlin and Venice, and the economic, artistic, creative evolution of these cities.

Why Murano?
Murano has been chosen by Venetians in the past as the Island of glass industry because of its position: not so far neither so close to Venice and in the perfect place for wind blowing. These two conditions allowed Murano to be perfect because there has been the less danger related to overs and less pollution related to steams.
Murano since 1200 has been the most famous place around Venice in the glassmaking industry, this is the reason why artisans and manufacturers are still able to make glass using the traditional ways and techniques.
Most of Murano manufacturers have a long long history and people use also today to use antique tools in the traditional way. People love to create something different and new and usually it's impossible not to fall in love with all these products, objects and masterpieces.

Murano original glass
The unique original Murano glass is certified by the “Vetro Artistico Murano” mark. This mark is regulated by the Veneto Region laws and managed by the Consorzio Promovetro which is an organization created in 1985 to promote the Venetian companies and firms which produce the artistic glass in Murano island.
The trademark Vetro Artistico Murano guarantees consumers the origin of glass production and the authenticity of traditional glassmakers techniques. The shopper which have the original products show this mark on the door, on the pieces of glass and sometimes the artisans impressed the logo on the glasses.
The authenticity mark is the most important guarantee for customers and also for producers because the cultural heritage of them is timeless and important for the artisans and for the city. It is important not to forget the importance of purchasing an object made in Murano and the great difference between the only action of buying something in Murano or Venice.
Never forget the hard work of artisans and glassmakers which have the task of carrying forward the cultural art of glassmaking and, in the other hand, the bigger value of an original product made in Murano.
